TŪL Back to your Desk

Guide

The TŪL gateway is the page you sign in to. Your Desk on it gathers what needs you from every app, so you can start the day in one place and open each item where it lives.

The Desk at a glance

The Desk reads the records the apps already keep. Nothing on it is a copy, so it always matches what TALIA, TITAN, TERRA, TYR and TAVI hold. It runs top to bottom in the order you should look at it:

  1. The greeting and summary line. How many items need you, how many are overdue, and how many are coming up.
  2. Needs my action, across the full width: the work that is yours to move.
  3. Coming up (your reminders still ahead) and Messages, side by side.
  4. For your information, folded away at the bottom.

While a section is still reading it says Loading. If a read fails it says so, with Try again. A section never tells you that nothing is waiting until it has actually checked.

Needs my action

Everything that is in your court in any app: RFIs, change orders, submittals and subcontracts that are with you, your tasks, contract reviews, onboarding steps, corrective actions, and your reminders once they come due. On the jobs you run as PM, work that nobody holds is listed here too, marked Unrouted, so you can put it in someone's court.

How it is grouped

GroupWhat is in it
OverduePast its due date. The oldest is first.
TodayDue today, on the Los Angeles calendar.
This weekDue in the next six days.
LaterDue further out, then anything with no due date (unrouted work has none).

A long group shows its first ten items with Show more under them.

Working an item

  1. Read the row: the app, what kind of record it is, its title, why it is yours, and when it is due.
  2. Press the row to open the record. Its one action says what you do there: Open for most records, Review for a contract review, Draft for a contract request, Upload for an insurance certificate to file, and Route for unrouted work.
  3. The record opens in the same tab, in its app. Use the browser's Back button to return to your Desk.
  4. A reminder that came due has Resolve as its action: press it when you are done. Press its words to edit it or move it to a later time.

You will know it worked whenthe item leaves Needs my action the next time the Desk refreshes (about once a minute) after you have moved it on in its app.

Coming up and your reminders

Reminders are your own private list: something you want brought back in front of you later. Nobody else can see them. Work someone assigned to you, or anything the job depends on, belongs on its record instead, where the team can see it.

Set a reminder

  1. Type what to remind you about in Remind me to... under Coming up.
  2. Press 1 day, 3 days or 1 week (counted from now, to the minute), or pick a day and time and press Set.
  3. Enter sets it for the day and time you picked, or one day from now when you have not picked one. The Desk says which time it took.

Change or finish one

  • Press the reminder's words to edit them, or to move it with a preset or a new day and time. Enter saves; Escape cancels.
  • Press Resolve when you are done with it.
  • When a reminder comes due it moves up into Needs my action, with Resolve as its action, until you resolve it or move it.
  • If your reminders cannot be read, Coming up says so, with Try again. Needs my action still shows your work from the apps and says that your reminders were not read.

You will know it worked whenthe reminder shows under Coming up with the words "Reminds you" and the day and time it will fire.

Messages

A preview of your two latest TUL_TALK conversations, with how many are unread. Press one to open it in the TUL_TALK window, where you read and reply. New starts a new message there. The Desk itself never sends a message.

If TUL_TALK has not loaded on the page, you can still read a conversation on the Desk; reload the page to reply.

For your information

Comments and mentions, review requests and results, chat, and notices from the portals and TAVI, from the last 14 days. It is folded by default; its header counts what is new by kind. Press For your information to open the list.

  • All and Unread switch the list; Read all marks everything in it read.
  • The Desk reads your newest 200 notifications. When there are more than that, it says so, and the older ones are not listed or marked read here.
  • Pressing an item marks it read and opens it.
  • The items in your court, your tasks and the due-today nudge are not repeated here: they are in Needs my action.

Read and unread follow you to the bell in every app.

Report a problem

Use Report bugs to TŪL_TEK at the foot of the gateway, or the Report bugs link in any app. Say what you were doing and what happened; attach a screenshot if it helps. You can follow your own reports on the TŪL_TEK page.

The staffing board

TŪL_STAFF is the board for the staffing meeting: jobs on one side, PMs and Supers on the other, and each person's load against their baseline. Drag a person onto a job to plan who runs it. The board is the meeting's plan; the PM and Super of record are still set in TITAN.

This guide covers the TŪL gateway. Each app has its own guide, linked from its tile and its menu.
